Before I got married, I lived in a town house up on the east bench. It was a 4 bedroom house full of girls and it was a blast! When I first moved in, I lived upstairs with a girl named....mmmm what was her name? Well anyways, she wasn't there too long when she got engaged so Ashley moved into the room next to mine. Then through her I met some fabulous friends!!! We got together for some yummy food at the Cheesecake Factory. It has been a while so it was fun to catch up and talk about the good old days! We had a lot of fun and deceided that we need to get together more often! So with all that said, I have to share my funny story about dinner...I have been TRYING (key word) to eat better so I ordered a salad...come on, salads can bee good right! Well it just happened to be the spicy chicken salad, and I love me some spicy, off the "weight managment" menu. When the girl brought our food, she was calling out the name of the entre and then giving it to the lucky winner. So when she gets to my salad, which was called the spicy chicken salad, she had to make it a point and YELL "WEIGHT MANAGMENT SALAD!" as she looked right at Heidi. Well to make the story even funnier...Heidi is tiny!!! So needless to say, if you really want to feel good about yourself, NOT, go ahead and hit up Cheesecake Factory and try to eat healthy. In an effort not to get the guilt trip from our waitress, Heidi and I split a cheesecake...but let me just say, I enjoyed every last dripping calorie :-)

i am enjoying some much needed down time...i feel like i go and go and never take advantage of alone time! when i reflect back on 2008 a lot of emotions came over me. this past year has been interesting, trying, exciting, irritating, amazing, groundbreaking, rewarding, changing, heartbreaking, and motivating to say the least! i have learned things about myself and others that has changed the way i look at things in life. my family is amazing and we have had some great times this past year...i'm sure i have a picture of every great time that was had :-)!!! my friends are priceless! i seriously have some of the most amazing friends! it seems like my friends are always there to make up for whatever i am lacking at that time! they are just like an extention of my family and i feel truly blessed to have such wonderful people in my life! the great people in my life inspire me to be a better person! so here is to being a better person in 2009! slowing down a little and taking note of all the greats in my life!!! but for now....off to celebrate the new year!!!

So I LOVE house music! It just makes me want to dance!!! Jorja called me and said some friends of hers were going to The Hotel because they knew someone who was spinning there. Well, I was not sold on the idea because I didn't want to have to deal with parking, plowing through the snow in heels (because you can't not wear cute shoes) and then standing in some stupid line in the freezing cold just to get in. So my first reaction was "NO"! That didn't hold up very well...she talked me into it...or I just gave in easy...not sure which one. So we get downtown and what do you know...front parking spot is wide open! We'll take it!!! Then we walk up to the door man and say, "We are on a list. Our friends are in the club already." So he gets out the list and nope...not on the list! Booo for this! But with a sweet smile ;) and a few nice words...we were in! Off we went for some kick ass music and good times dancing!!!

What a great Christmas party! We draw names at the begining of the month at the office and it was so much fun this time to see what everyone got! It is crazy how well you get to know someone when you work with them all the time. Malissa made me a yummy tray of peanutbutter rice crispy treats and got me a gift card to Barnes and Nobel! LOVE it! I have been wanting to get The Alchemist...so off to Barnes I go! Thanks Malissa!!!

If you haven't been there, you are missing out! It is a lot of fun!!! It is a small building and they pack the people in there! There are 2 dueling piano players and you can pay to have a song played or pay more to have the song stopped...good times!!!

So I guess Carter didn't get the memo that we were sleeping in this morning ;) He was up bright and early so seeing as we were in a hotel room that meant all of us were up! I got him to snuggle in with me for a bit and watch cartoons but that didn't last long. Haley ran to get some breakfast, Mom started to get ready and I was watching Carter. I took my eye off him for 2 seconds and I look back and he has gotten under the bed and is eating a french fry...let me just say, we hadn't had fries! AHHHH! Sick! I get the award for best babysitter! After we got all ready we had a few errands to run (ie: a stop at the local Kmart) and then back to Cleveland to help set up for the wedding. The kids ran around while we all tried to get things done. Traci, the bride, got to the town hall just after her cake was delivered and her hair stylist met her there. After checking everything out she was off to getting ready. Haley and I went to JaNae's (just around the corner) and got ready and then back for the wedding. When we got there, the rest of the family was just pulling up. It was fun to sit and chat with everyone before the wedding started and then Aunt Gayle had her purse loaded with treats to keep everyone quiet! After the ceremony, Aunt Kathy had a meat and cheese tray with rolls for the family to make themselves something to eat...why is it those sandwiches tast so good! I guess we were all hungry...Brooke even snuck out to go get Diet Cokes :-) After the wedding party finished with their pictures, everyone was busy setting up tables and getting the reception food ready. Aunt Kathy really overdid it on the desserts! Amazing! Haley and I headed out about 7 and followed Dad, Conner and Angela up the canyon. Carter was ready to get home and truthfully, so was I! All in all it was a great time! CONGRATS to Traci and Jerom!!!

So Friday afternoon Haley, Carter, Grandma and I loaded up the car and took a trip to Cleveland UT for my cousisn wedding. The drive is about 2 hours and Carter was so good the whole way. Haley and I had fun chatting with Grandma and learning things about her. Her memory AMAZES me! She can tell you details about things that happened in her life 50 years ago. I can't even remeber what I did last week! We got to the Cleveland Town Hall about 3 and Mom, Aunt Kathy (mother of the bride) and JaNae (sister of the bride) were hard at work! We hung out there for a bit before the dinner started. Haley and I even got up on stage and did a little river dancing ;) he he he! Once everyone got there, they went through the rehersal and then Jerome (the groom) and his family and prepared a mexican dinner! Who can resist some home made mexican food! Haley and I headed over to Price to get checked into the hotel while Mom stayed to finish up a few things...or so we thought! It was an interesting sight, Haley and I hauling what looked like a weeks worth of lugage into this small town Holiday Inn! We finaly got in our room and Carter was not loving life at this point...so while Haley got ready for bed, Carter and I took a little walk around the hotel in our jams! Then we got back to the room and were trying to settle down when Haley and I got the GIGGLES! She expected me to giggle softly because Carter was asleep...yeah that works well :-) I took a late night run to the local gas station for a nice cold Diet Coke and then Haley and I just sat and waited for Mom...we were sure she said she would be right behind us! Cell phone service down there is not the best so when we tried calling her we kept getting her voicemail. To be honest, we were getting a little worried! Haley fell asleep and just as I was starting to...in rolls Mom at about 1 am....crazy lady!

I love Thanksgiving! It is such a fun time of year and I love getting together with my family! It usually ends up a random group of us but always a great time!!! Every year my mom gets a craft for us to do. Something simple and always cute! The girls sit at the table and craft while the guys watch football. This year she did these cute boards that said "gather together in gratitude"! After craft time everyone had to check out the newspaper to see what would be on sale tomorrow morning. I couldn't find anything I couldn't live without. Now Uncle Jeff on the other hand...he is headed to Home Depot for his grinder! He was dead set on this stinkin grinder. I aske him, "Jeff, what are you going to grind?" to which he replied, "Various items that are large that I would like to make smaller!" Well now, that clears it right up! Still not sure what he needs it for ;) Then we all got together to play games and I laughed so hard my face hurt!!! What a fun day!!!

LOL!!! So these pics were too funny not to post! There was a group of models at the Twilight premier that you could have your picture taken with. I guess they are supposed to be the Twilight cast??? Not sure but they take your picture and then you can go to the website to view it. Great marketing! So my friend Aubree, her sister Ashley and I had ours taken. The next day at work, Kamie told me she had her picture taken with the models as well so we just had to see them! Too funny!

Down memory lane...
So I was chatting with a friend yesterday about blogs and she told me it was time for an update on mine. Well, I realized, I haven't taken many pics lately...mainly because I broke my brand new camera so I am back to using my old school camera...no it doesn't have film, not that old school ;) Well as her and I were talking (I promised her I would not tie her name to this story so we will call her "Sally"...lol) we remembered the good old days of Starter Jackets! LOL Now if you went to SJMS or any other school in the valley, I'm pretty sure these were a popular item at your school! My friend, "Sally" had her very own Fila Jacket! She was a cool chick for sure! I myself did not have one of my own, but boy did I think I was cool when I got to wear my boyfriends! Now that I think back, they were such stupid coats...you had to pull them over your head (because they only zipped half way) and they were huge! But, let us not forget the BIG velcro pocket on the front...now that was a good idea! You could keep all your crap tucked right up against you at all times while sporting your favoirte team (or your boyfriends) on your back! Ahhh the good old days!

What a fun night!!! My sis and I thought it would be a great idea to surprise mom with a night out for the girls! So we got tickets to Thriller and Megan (my almost sister) joined for the fun! We had dinner at Parrothead first seeing as it is moms FAVORITE place! She is easily pleased. Then headed downtown to Thriller! Parking was a nightmare...come on people...get a little more organized! The show was amazing! Megan even got a little tear in her eye ;) So I think everyone is on board for going next year as well...this time take a limo to the front door! lol

I have been to so many Reba concerts...with Katie...and this one proved to be the best yet! We got downtown and parked right accross the street from the ESA. My brothers girlfriend hooked us up and had her sister trade our tickets up for us that morning so we had great seats! As always, when it comes to crazies coming out, we were not dissappointed with the interesting couple sitting the row in front of us! Reba and Kelly sang thier little hearts out and what a fabulous combination!!! Reba announced she has a box set coming out in November...you bet I will need that! I just wish they would release a CD together! Those 2 voices together make amazing music! It was such a fun night! Thanks Katie!!!

My girlfriends all took their kids to Gardner Village for lunch today and I was able to sneak away from work for a bit to join them. Sunday dinner is a weekly event at the parents house and this week Carter brought the entertainment! He is so stinkin funny! I made Grandmas famous potato salad and Carter enjoyed every bite of his! He would take a bite (or smear it all over his face depending on how you want to look at it) and then throw his spoon down, throw his hands up, yell, and wait for all of us to laugh at him...then do it all over again! We could not stop laughing at him and he thought he was pretty dang funny!

For girls night this month we met at the Cafe Rio in South Jordan...that was interesting! We saw so many Bingham people...kind funny! I think next time if we do dinner we should go in Layton, then maybe we won't see a million people ;) The pics aren't great but as you may know you can't take pictures inside Cafe Rio...I guess it is the best kept secret around and they don't want anyone seeing...not sure!

Ahhh the bridal shower ;) My cute friend Kassie is getting married and her mom and sisters had a shower for her. It was called a "Good Luck Pot Luck" (lucky for her she has creative sisters!) and you had to take a pot luck dish for the party and they were judged. I made cowboy caviar and put it in this really cute dish (that was my gift) and then got her this funny stick pony and cowboy hat to go along with the theme ;) There was great food, fun girls and she got a lot of great gifts!!!

The plan was an afternoon with the fam at the State Fair...we had it all planned and then last minute plans changed for everyone. So I ended up at the fair with the parents :-) We actually had a lot of fun! Neither of them had ever had a funnel cake...crazy I know! The fair is always a good time when it comes to people watching! It amazes me the crap I see people buying...like who really needs a wax mold of their hand holding a wax rose...hmmm! As you can see, dad and I think we are pretty funny having mom take our picture...I just couldn't resist this pic!

I am always the one to drive by myself everywhere so I don't get stuck in one place...lol! So, after the birthday dinner at the parents, I went to see my friend Russell at Piper Down and then to Highlander to see my girls! Because of this, my friend Anna gave me a new name...Hopper! She said it is because I can't ever stay in one place...I keep trying to tell them it is because I don't want to miss out on anything :-) Russell and I...I am the WORST at serious face...but this kinda worked...lol

We took a little trip downtown for the annual Greek Fest! There was some interesting people watching to say the least :-) We got in line to get some grub...which went around the block...and I was not sure what all the fuss was about! Seeing as the only thing I was looking forward to eating was, well I don't know, NOTHING! I would love to be one of those adventrous people who will eat anything...just not me! So as we are waiting in this huge line, we pass the same people a few times. It is one of those lines that wraps around and around! So don't you worry...if you missed the crazy guy with the kinda mullet in the sorta pony tail with the barley there side burns caked in eyeshadow and lipstick...we will see him/her again in just a few! (I tried to snap a pic but was not able to without being completly obvious) If this wasn't enough, we were given the wonderful opportunity of passing roasting lamb...not just part but the WHOLE lamb! Surprisingly enough when we go to the front of the line I had actually deceided to try a few things and I even liked some of them. After dinner, we walked around for a bit to check out all the booths. There was some beautiful jewlery and even some cute clothes!

Way back in my early twenties...lol...I met Miss Ashley when she moved in to our house in Holladay! She was such a fun roomie and this week turned the big 30! Her husband had friends over to celebrate with her and I hadn't seen her in years so it was great to catch up a bit! We got some good laughs in about the boys we (okay that I) dated and the boy she dated and married :-) Now, years later, she has two little kids and a great husband! There is nothing like living in a house full of girls...with all the drama...and all the fun that comes along with it! Happy Birthday Ash! So glad we are friends!!!

SWISS DAYS 08-30-08

For as long as I can remember the girls in my family have gone to Swiss Days in Midway! I did say girls...this is a no boys allowed event! We invited them once...and we will keep it at that :-) It is an event that we don't want them messing up! When it comes to our Swiss Day ritual, we are pretty intense! You are welcome to join but hang on for the ride! We leave Salt Lake at 7:00 am sharp! (okay my mom wants to leave at 7:00 am sharp and I am not the best at that!) Up the canyon we go...and every car full of girls we pass my mom says, "They are going to beat us!" I think she is convinced that if "they" get there before we do all the good stuff will be gone. But amazingly enough, we end up with some great things after all! Mom hit the wrapping paper booth where people were fighting to get in! The cute chunky watches with inter changeable bands were hot! (we got ours last year ;) One of my favoirtes was a booth with hats! I love me a cute hat!!! With no babies and no husbands we get in and get our shopping done! By the time we are leaving the square, everyone else is packing in and walking from miles away!

For girls night this month we met at the District and had dinner at Red Robin. Then we all walked down to Rocky Mountian Chocolate Factory to satisfy a sweet tooth! The girls working there were so sweet! They were asking us how long we have been friends...yes Megan 20 years :-)...and then told us they thought we were only 22! (?I think it was right ladies?) They told us that they were still in High School and thought it was so cool that we are still friends. After standing on the side walk in front of American Eagle chatting for ever, Megan and I were going to run to Target. We pulled over in front of the store and Megan ran up to see what time they closed...well they were closed so there went our fun right...nope! I got the WORST bloody nose sitting there waiting for her and we could not stop laughing! I had 2 tissues in my car and a nose bleeding like Old Faithful! I kept telling Megan to stop laughing (but I couldn't even stop laughing long enough to tell her to stop) and get me more tissue! Apparently Megan carries an entire roll of T.P. in her car! She says it is because she has kids that are potty training...come on we know...she still hopes to T.P. someones house late at night! So here we sit in front of Target, my nose bleeding, a HUGE ball of tissue so I don't get it on my clothes, laughing and talking! Of all the pictures Megan takes...we didn't capture this tender moment! I guess we will hold it in our hearts :-)

Golf is so not my thing! I keep saying I am going to take up golf and not sure what my reasoning is. I think it sounds like such a relaxing thing to do...and then I re think and realize it would frusterate the hell out of me I'm sure! I have never been interested in sitting in front of the tv to watch it let alone go and walk the course but when my friend, Kamie, told me her cousin Tony was playing in the Utah Open I deceided to check it out! I called my dad and he was up for going so the plan was to wake up early on a Saturday morning and go check out something we didn't even know if we liked! Curtis, Dad and I went to Farmington and watched a little golf! I am happy to report that I think I like it. I still don't know that I would EVER sit down and watch it on tv...I liked being on the course early in the morning. So I guess we will chalk this up to a succesful adventure...now I may pick up a club!

So my work girls and I headed out for a night at Nascart! Tanya and Abby were well practiced, seeing as they went recently, and had some mad skillz on the track! Way to go ladies! What a fun weekend! We started out in Heber at Granny's house (a family home)...everyone headed up after work on Friday. We gathered in the "parlor" (lol I had to use the word gathered for the parlor...sounds so official!) and watched the olympics for a bit...GO PHELPS...and then headed off to "The Train Burger", as Peggy would call it, for dinner. Then back to Granny's for a chill night with the fam! We played a little Catch Phrase and I don't think we could have laughed more! Then mom, Curtis and I ended up sitting out on the porch late at night...no sound of the city...no big lights...no cell phones...it was so nice!

Saturday morning we headed off to the lake for a day in the sun! We rented wave runners and in the words of a wise man, dad ;), "no this isn't fun...this is a BLAST"! Mom packed a picnic...delicious! I had my beach bag with a book and I Pod...and yes, my cell phone :( I guess I can't go too long without it!

We found out right before we were going for the weekend that some of our favorite people were celebrating their 50th so of course we had to come back down for it! Dee and Loleta were like grandparents to us when we lived in West Jordan. They are such awesome people and such a cute pair after 50 years! It was fun to see the DVD their kids had put together of them...back in the day...high school sweethearts :-)
As if I hadn't done enough today...I had to stop at the Highlander to see Russ, Kurt, and Amy! This trip to the Highlander was well worth it...Russ sang! So funny! Cheers to the Highlander!!!

My mom and dad have reached a milestone...30 years of marriage and they still like each other ;) They are amazing people as parents and such great examples of a loving couple! I am so lucky to have them to look up to! We all got together and hung out at their house for dinner and then we (okay fine mostly Haley) made up a game and they had to answer questions about each other, their days of dating, and their marriage. It was so much fun! We learned little things we never knew and got to hear the fun stories about them dating...dad as the hottie basketball player and mom as the sassy cheer leader! Happy Anniversary mom and dad..."sure do love ya"!

My "nieces" Kaylen and Saige had their birthday party today and I was luck enough to be invited! Bonnie, their mom, is so great when it comes to their parties they literally talk about it for months before! Then, she stays up all night before just to make sure everything is ready and she even makes the cake...yep the Hello Kitty cake...she made it! She is amazing! The kids had so much fun! Kaylen just wanted to tear through the gifts to see what she got and Saige wanted to make sure she read every card and carefully opened each gift followed by a thank you to whoever gave it to her. I made Fairy Princess outfits for the girls and just had to make one for Ellie too...hey she can't be the only one without :-) These little girls are so much fun!!! Happy Birthday girls!!!

My friend Kamie invited Carter and I to a birthday party for her niece. It was her first birthday and they had a big party at their church. To say the least, Carter had a great time! He was mezmorized by Toa, Kamies dad, while he played with his band. Then when all the girls were dancing he even went up by the stage and was clapping for them. So cute! On the way home I looked in the rear view and I could see the eyes start to close and he tried to fight it. Finaly he just gave in and fell asleep. He was the best date I could have taken ;) even if he did fall asleep before I got him home!

So I got a phone call about a month ago from my friend Joe asking a favor of me...take his wife to the American Idol concert so he didn't have to go! Um yeah! What girl would pass up a night out with her friend AND getting to see David Cook! Not this one ;) So I got and email from him with the info on our tickets and a few days later Bonnie called me totally excited saying, "Did you know Joe is sending us to the American Idol show?" We were like 2 kids waiting for christmas! We met up before the concert and had dinner at Parrot Head Grill (I 100% recommend it!) and then off to the E Center which proved to be an interesting adventure! I didn't realize that parking was such a nightmare! Of all the times not to have any cash, we picked the worse! Neither of us had cash and there was not a place in sight to park that you didn't have to pay. So we had to drive all over just to find a bank and then pay $10 to park and still hike a mile to the E Center. It was pretty funny that we were so excited to get there and had such issues parking!
When we finally got in and to our seats we had missed the first singer which was no big deal...they had the top 10 and they started with 10 and counted down leaving the 2 David's at the end! There were a few good singers ie: Michael John and Carly Smithson. I think a lot of the singers have had some great coaching since the show and are now finding there nitch! Cute little David Archuleta did an amazing job!!! He sang the famous Apologize, it just wasn't the same without One Republic, but he did great! He was so cute with the crowd and looked like he was having a lot of fun! David Cook was my favorite all along and seeing him in concert proved nothing less than awesome! He sang Hero (Foo Fighters version) about his brother and I serioulsy had tears! I love his voice and watching him is just fabulous!!! I can't wait for his album and tour! I'm so there!

It was a night out at the Bee's game for Big Brothers Big Sisters! My little and I were sitting front row down on the third base line watching the other team warm up. A few of the players kept looking over and giving "the eye"! I couldn't figure out what was going on. Then, one of them walked over and handed me a baseball...with his # on it! So funny! We got a good laugh out of that for the rest of the night! When the game was over and the players were walking off the field, they came right by us again and said "Now don't forget to call!" So I did...he he he! It was a little late and none of my friends could go out...so I did! Two of the players got called up to go play in the majors so they were celebrating before they left.

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays! Growing up it was such a big deal...we lived at the end of a circle and the whole street would get together and have a bbq and fireworks. Everyone set up chairs around the street and each family took turns setting off fireworks...it was quite the show! We don't do anything like that anymore but it still proves to be such a fun day! I had a small meltdown in the morning (I guess the harsh reality of the void in my life was a little much for me) but as always...mother to the rescue ;) So I met up with my parents, sister and nephew for the neighborhood parade around 8. I didn't realize it was such a big deal...South Jordan Fire Dept was there and followed all the little kids on their bikes. Sassy even sported her Proud to be an American tee! After the parade there was a flag ceremony and breakfast. The firemen parked the truck and let the kids get in and look around.
Then off to my sisters for a day at the pool which was just what I needed! It was SO hot and I loved it! Carter is like a little fish...I think my sister was lovin the fact that everyone wanted a turn taking him in the pool! It gave her a little downtime ;) We grilled out at mom and dads...always a crowd pleaser! I told my mom that being in her back yard is an "experience" and that is no lie! We have so much fun there! Then...off to Riverton to watch the fireworks! They put on a good show...and of course my dad remembers some "secret" parking spot from ten years ago and it still proves to be the best place to park! Carter thought it was neat for just a few...then not so much! What a fun filled day!!!

Anytime I am at the Vashaw's and my mom calls, Joe has to give her a hard time for never inviting him over. Now any of you that know my mom are well aware that everyone is always welcome at her house...so Joe has nothing to back his argument :) Even if she didn't like him she would still invite them over just to give her a reason to have a party! So we finally figured out a day that worked for everyone and had a BBQ. Mom made great food as always and the kids had a blast playing in the yard...they even took Papa Jim on in a sword fight! I don't know if they really won or if he just got too tired to go on! Then they got the waggon out and made Joe run all over the yard with them in it. Before you knew it, Bonnie and I were doing cartwheels! I think we were laughing more than anything! Joe was amazed that after being married to Bonnie for all these years he never knew she could do a cartwheel...hey we girls have to keep a few tricks up our sleves :-) Love you guys! Thanks for such a fun night!!!

So I packed a lunch and headed out to see them! I got there a little too late and missed the Derby but I got to hang out with them so it was all worth it! We love our girls night! This month we were lucky enough to meet at Brittan's parents house! What an amazing place...I don't think any of us wanted to go home after a relaxing night there. We did things a little different this year. My mom had a great idea of having a breakfast at her house and it turned out better than expected! Everyone loved it! My Aunt Kathy and her family were her from Elmo (yes there is an Elmo UT;) so it was fun to get to see them before the headed home. It was early enough that it wasn't so hot yet and the kids had fun playing in the yard. We all left with full tummies from good food and $5 a gallon chocolate milk! (thanks to Aunt Kristi)

My cute friend Kamie married her high school sweet heart Matina on Saturday, June 14th. The ceremony was at Thanksgiving Point and they could not have asked for better weather! (it did get a little hot just sitting in it but they made cute little fans for all the guests) They both were in all white and looked amazing! Later that night the reception was held on the 23 floor of the Wells Fargo Building. Her cute little niece sang a song for them, her sisters did a dance, her dad sang (he pulled out all the stops and did a little Elvis) and then she danced. It was so awesome! Such talent that family has! For the last few months at work I think the wedding is all we have talked about. Not sure what we will do now...I guess work! I forgot how many little details go into a day like this but it turned out beautiful!!! Congrats and best wishes to the newlyweds!

Along with millions of other women, I went to opening night of Sex and the City! It was like the Super Bowl for women :-) I met up with some friends before the movie for good food and drinks...we even took a quiz and I lost by one! There were only a few girls there that I knew but at the end of the night I had made some FABULOUS new friends!!! Then off to the District we went where I met up with my girls from work. I started out with a love hate relationship with the movie but in the end I loved it! I even shed some tears...that is a good movie in my book if it can make you cry!

MEMORIES FROM MEMORIAL DAY

I have always had such great memories from Memorial day weekend and this year came through for me! My mom told me we would be leaving at 7:00 am and let's just say we got off to a late start because of me ;) Hey I'm not a morning person! So a little after 7:00 we were off!(Mom, Grandma, Cousin Tyler, Cousin Hope, Sister Haley and Nephew Carter) The ride down started off a little sleepy but after an all too funny time ordering some breakfast at McDonalds we all woke right up! Then we ended up playing some crazy car game that made us all laugh pretty hard!

This is the back of the car with the flowers...and Grandma toned it down this year! She buys so many flowers! She is such a doll! Her relatives are lucky to have her!!!

This is the house that my Grandma grew up in...can you say tiny! Her mother raised her and her two brothers alone! What a strong woman! My Grandma lost her husband 27 years ago and talk about a strong woman! I don't think in all these years I have ever heard her complaine about being alone. I know she misses Grandpa terribly but she is such a positive woman! I am so blessed to have gotten even a little of their strength!

Better late than never...the first weekend in May I went to Vegas and here is the story :-)What a blast!!! I have been to a million concerts and this was bar far one of the best shows I have ever seen! It may have had a little something to do with the beautiful venue...the great friends...or the front row view ;) We got stuck in lovely Vegas traffic and were sure we would never make it in time. Well, my skillful driving got us to the Red Rock Resort with time to spare. We waited in line for about an hour and met these cute girls, Abby and Christy. Abby is Tina and Christy the pregnant brides maid in Tony N Tina's Wedding @ The Rio. They too were there for a little eye candy that night!
I have to admit, I was not so excited about Bucky Covington opening for Dierks. Boy did I change my mind on that real fast! He was a lot of fun to watch...not to mention his hottie brother on the drums :-)
Then Dierks...what can I say...AMAZING!!! I could watch him all night! He has such great energy and an awesome voice! What a wonderful night!

Dinner at Claim Jumper in Vegas was a lot of fun and good food! If you have never been to a Claim Jumper you are missing out! It is impossible to finish your dinner because the portions are HUGE and don't even think about chocolate cake when you are done! So it seems lately everyone around me is being summoned to jury duty! I will admit that the inner detective in me would love to sit in on a trial and hear all of the gorey details but just my luck I would get some boring case of a traffic violation...so I guess I will keep my fingers crossed I don't get the dreaded letter! My friend... I won't mention names ;)... thought if she was not registered to vote she would not get summoned...guess what she got in the mail! I will stick to my fingers crossed method.

Last Wednesday was girls night! Yeah!!! I think we all needed it! We had a chill night at Megan's and got take out from Rumbi's. There was a little American Idol watching and lots of catching up...Megan busted out the camera and made Jeff snap a shot of us. Katie barley skiped a beat with having a baby! She looks great!!!

TRIP TO THE ZOO

A few years ago when I lived in Virginia, I met Bonnie and her brand new baby Kaylen. I instantly fell in love with this family! They were like having a little bit of Utah in Virginia (neither Bonnie or her husband Joe are from UT but she did go to Utah State so that counts ;) They were always having Dave and I over for dinner or movie nights. Now, a few years and three kids later, I am now so lucky to have them living in Utah! Last Friday, the 18th, Bonnie called and said we are on our way to the Zoo come meet us! It was so much fun! They are a million miles an hour and want to see everything! I love being around them and all of their energy. The Zoo was a perfect idea...the animals kept the girls somewhat occupied so that Bonnie and I could have some "girl time" and chit chat. So thanks to Bonnie, my "nieces" and baby Josh :-) for inviting me to the Zoo! KAYLEN AND SAIGE

What a TRIP! So I found this image on Alisa's blog and had to have it! If any of you did not have the chance to play Girl Talk let me just say...you missed out :-) Megan you know we had hours of fun thanks to this game!!! After taking a drive with Megan down memory lane (literally we drove past her old house) it was so fun to reminisce about the good old days! There were HOURS spent in her bedroom playing games, making commercials (I wonder if the Super Bowl needs any because they were good!) and prank calling! This was before caller I.D. and *69! Those were the days :-)

So this morning, before any of you had even opened you eyes, I was on the morning news with my "little sister". 2 News was broadcasting live from Jason's Deli @ Gateway for the casting call for the show Big Brother. They took that chance to bring on the Big Brothers Big Sisters program from Utah and tell a little about it. My "little" (Melissa) and I were asked to go for a short interview with Casey Scott. It was a lot of fun! Casey was really good with the kids and they were all excited about being on tv ;) So here is my little plug for the BBBS program....get involved! I know most of my friends are mothers and that takes up ever last second of your time but if you know anyone that you think would be interested, I would highly recomend it! What a great experience!!!

I am such a spaz....my camera sat neatly in my purse the whole morning! Therefore, I have no pics for this post! LAME! I will blame it on the fact that I woke up at 4 am!!! AHHHHH
